Job Title: Operations Manager (Contract Position)

Job Type: 1099 Contract, Remote/On-Site Flexibility

Compensation: $30-$35/hour, depending on experience

Hours: Approx. 10-15 hours weekly through September 2027 (with renewal possible)

Job Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and creative individual to help KCLT build on its recent successful capital campaign and first property acquisition. This position, focused on communications and operational support, will be completed in collaboration and coordination with the Board of Trustees and committees. The ideal candidate will have experience in social media marketing, written communication, print design, donor management, and familiarity with the non-profit sector. This position requires strong organizational skills, the ability to work independently, and an interest in learning about and supporting the work of community land trusts and affordable housing in the Kearsarge Region. 

Key Regular Responsibilities:

  • Social media management (Instagram and Facebook)

  • Email newsletters (Mailchimp)

  • Designing and editing print materials with Canva or other graphic design software

  • Donor and volunteer management 

  • Website editing and management

  • Attend monthly board meeting and relevant committee meetings as needed

  • Implementation and management of membership program

  • Monitor KCLT email account and phone messages

Additional Responsibilities may include:

  • Support Board of Trustees with grant writing

  • Coordinate with Board of Trustees for tabling at regional and/or local events

  • Assist with operational support of the Foster Farm property

  • Draft and publish press releases

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic understanding of the CLT model and ability to communicate it to others

  • Highly organized with an eye for detail and creative problem-solving skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficiency in social media platforms and social media management tools

  • Experience with Little Green Light or other CRM systems

  • Familiarity with Canva, Adobe Suite, or other design tools

  • Ability to create original visual and written work without reliance on AI

  • Grant Management experience (finding, writing, implementing, reporting)

  • Basic understanding of bookkeeping procedures

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

  • Ability and willingness to work collaboratively with the Board of Trustees

  • Familiarity with the Kearsarge region and conservation/community land trusts

Note:

This is a contract position, requiring 1099 self-employment status. The contractor will define their own schedule but will report back on goals and progress at monthly board and committee meetings.
